You are an SDR that is not allowed to cold call. You create meetings through content.
1. Target Hire in 8 Sentences
We are a bootstrapped company building AI agents for customer service, serving major German enterprises and targeting mid-market and enterprise organizations with upwards of 3,000 customer contacts a month.
As our first marketing hire, you will work with two founders remote or in a small Berlin office, using Claude agents as your team.
You will listen closely to customers and recorded sales calls, uncover why companies buy, and turn those insights into clear stories about our product.
You will personally create and publish landing pages, founder social content, social content and YouTube videos that explain workflows, integrations, and business value.
You will find the specific questions and buying situations that bring relevant buyers into the market, then place useful botBrains content where they look for answers.
Your commercial mission resembles an SDR's, but you are not allowed to cold call or cold email: create meetings through content and distribution. The founders own direct selling and cold outreach (except for webinars, events etc).
We need someone who takes ownership, acts quickly on reversible decisions, experiments often and understands insights must be actionable. Failure is not to try.
You should be excited to become a credible public face of botBrains, explaining and demonstrating the product on camera while helping build demand with a bootstrap budget.
2. The Profile in Practice
2.1 Your Traits
- Ownership. You notice an opportunity, decide what needs doing, and follow through from the first customer insight to publication, distribution, and results. You take responsibility without waiting for reminders.
- Bias to action. You distinguish one-way from two-way doors. Most marketing decisions are reversible, so you make a sensible choice, ship, learn, and adjust.
- Business-minded. You understand how companies make money. You understand how they make choices. You connect features to revenue, costs, workload, customer experience, and the less tangible factors behind enterprise decisions: confidence, predictability, internal credibility, and compliance assurance.
- Exceptional listener (i.e. curious). You ask thoughtful follow-up questions, hear the concern behind a feature request, and check your interpretation.
- Excellent communitor. You make complex workflows understandable through words, diagrams, screenshots, demos, and video. You can explain the same capability differently to a CX leader, IT stakeholder, or executive. Excellent German & English.
- Resourceful and comfortable building. Your team is the founders and Claude agents. You learn tools, direct agents, check their work, and personally take useful assets through to publication with selective outside support where justified.
- Creative about reaching buyers. You look beyond a generic content calendar. You identify verticals, integration needs, and buying situations where useful content can introduce botBrains, and plan distribution before production.
- Comfortable being visible. You are willing to appear on camera, demonstrate the product, interview founders, and host webinars. You develop an informed perspective so every piece of content does not depend on founder availability.
